Common Causes of Burn Injury

BOver the course of 25 years of practice, Mr. Rubinstein has represented clients who sustained a wide variety of serious injuries. Some of the most traumatic events our Carlsbad injury lawyer has helped victims pursue compensation for are cases that resulted in severe burns.

During the first week of each February the American Burn Association holds Burn Awareness Week. From February 1 through February 7 this year, the organization seeks to raise awareness about the impact of these terrible injuries and how to prevent them.

Burn injuries can be caused by the negligence of others, with potential examples including:

  • Auto accidents: Cars, trucks, and motorcycles are all at risk of catching fire after a collision, especially if fuel has leaked onto the road surface
  • Construction site accidents: Faulty electrical wiring, poor storage of dangerous materials, and other hazards can all cause burns and other severe injuries
  • Defective products: Faulty vehicle components, household items, and even clothing can carry an unacceptably high risk of flammability

The American Burn Association estimates that approximately 450,000 burn injuries each year require some form of hospital or emergency treatment. Many burn victims must then undergo additional surgeries, physical therapy, and other procedures.

If you sustained severe burn injuries because of another party’s carelessness, you shouldn’t have to bear the burden alone. Mr. Rubinstein can pursue compensation on your behalf for medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, lifetime care costs, and other expenses associated with this type of serious injury.
